Beaded Lace Knitting
Class Description
Delicate and exquisite, the beauty of lace and tiny beads
So delicate and exquisite, the beauty of lace combined with tiny beads! This is a class in advanced bead placement techniques to complement and enhance the knitted lace fabric.
Learn about design approaches for embellishing lace stitch patterns with beads, selecting beads and thread, stringing and efficient handling of beads while knitting.
A sampler of several techniques will be made during class — an ideal way to clearly see the effect of each technique and learn when and where you want to use in your own designing. Students have the choice of working in miniature scale, or with larger beads and needles.
- Prerequisites: Some experience in knitting lace. Knitting with Beads 101 or equivalent recommended but not required.
- Students supply their own yarn/thread, beads and knitting needles. If desired, purchase of kits for this class can be arranged. Please contact me beforehand with number of kits to reserve for your class.
- Additional student materials fee: $5 per student (includes project instructions and charts).
- Duration: 6 hours.
