Moebius ZigZag Vest Front

Based on HeartStrings knitting pattern #A76

This version of the Moebius ZigZag Scarf is featured as a vest style. Shown in Heritage Yarns Rayon Boucle color What a Wonderful World. Don't you love how the colors tracked in counterpoint to the zigzags?

Even though the Rayon Boucle is a relatively heavy yarn for a "lace" type of article (size US 8 needles is what I used for this), the rayon is cool-feeling and therefore practical even in our warm climate. I simply followed the scarf pattern except did only a total of 5 ½ zigzags rather than 8 ½ because of the heavier yarn and larger gauge. I used not quite 6 ounces of the 8-ounce skein. And the pattern is easily adapted for wider/longer. So you'd have enough yarn if you wanted to make larger.

The photo shows the Moebius ZigZag arranged as a vest front style, letting the zig-zag edges fold back to give the effect of a collar and lapel. This makes a fashionable accessory for warm weather without wearing an entire vest! I am so pleased with the look of this and the drape. It would make nice gifts, too, as it is an easy-fitting type of garment style.
