Reversible Lace Ladders Scarf
HeartStrings knitting pattern #A37
A simple rectangular scarf to knit in a lacy reversible stitch. It's a great one-skein project and makes a nice ascot-like neck scarf. Pattern includes instructions to make larger if you have more yarn and want to lengthen and/or widen.
You'll enjoy the rhythm in making the pattern stitch using the method I describe for keeping yarn overs more uniformly sized between both knit/purl and purl/knit sequences.
I made the one pictured here from a small amount of merino/silk handspun with just a little over one ounce/200 yards of yarn I had remaining from another project.
Allow 200 yards of lace or fingering weight yarn for 8" x 44" scarf, or desired width and length with yardage adjustment. 4 ¾ stitches/inch, size US 5 / 3.75 mm needles suggested. Shown in handspun laceweight merino/silk yarn. Written stitch instructions.

This is an example of how the Reversible Lace Ladders scarf looks in a variegated yarn. It is knitted in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in color #18 Watercolor.
